The Good
News
These sanctions are due to expire on the current Earth calendar on 5 May 2012 according to Magistrate Don Hardy, GC Chief of Protected Planets. PsychoHistorians, MetaEconomists and their young technicians have been installed on Terra for the past LC 54 years. The Advance Team has made great strides in nurturing the growth towards technologically powerful, yet responsible societies. Even though, at present (LC 2003), apparent hostilities are underway, the PsychoHistorian onsite predicts resolution and a new LC 500 year Pax Terra in as soon as two to three years. In fact, the progress has been so good in recent times that the Galactic Counsel has agreed to hear a petition to reopen commerce LC five years early – 5 May 2007 in local calendar. The reopening of the planet is expected to be authorized to prevent predicted geologic activity from threatening the stability of these finally mature civilizations. Until that time, however, strict sanctions remain in place. As you learned in high school, Seldon's Psychohistorical Prediction Functions require that the modeled population does not know that it is being observed!
